(Part 2)
13 March 1968 – Offer of the Mayor of Wörth
On March 13, 1968, Wörth’s mayor, Alfred Büchele, responded enthusiastically to the listing for the search for a property by Johann Bauer. He offered approx. 3400 m² of property to the entrepreneur willing to settle in the future Reitfeld industrial park. His goal was to economically strengthen Wörth, whose status had only been raised to that of a city in 1954, and to create new jobs for its approximately 1,850 inhabitants. For Johann Bauer, the convenient location right between Regensburg and Straubing was particularly important. The then planned A3 motorway was, however, finally opened only in the early 1980s. Johann Bauer’s assessment of winning new customers through short delivery routes proved to be the right one.
